Launch of the Wildlife Advice Hotline

A great start to 2013 for the BWCN!

Thanks to Belize Telemedia Ltd we are now the proud owners of a toll-free number, which will allow Belizeans countrywide to report injured, orphaned or abused animals and receive expert advice about problem wildlife.

The Wildlife Advice Hotline will be manned 7 days a week and will connect the public with experts from Belize's conservation and wildlife organisations, our wildlife veterinarian and the Belize Forest Department.

Thanks to the support of the members of the Wildlife Emergency Response Team (WERT) we can respond to wildlife incidents and transport injured animals and birds to the Wildlife Clinic in Cayo or to the appropriate rehabilitation centre.

You can be a part his amazing new venture in one of the following ways:

Become a member of the BWCN: your membership fees help fund the phone line, purchase capture equipment, cover fuel costs, vet fees. Visit the website for details, or give us a call.

Become a member of WERT: contact us for a sign-up form

Donate your time: we need knowledgeable individuals to help man the phone line or to help with the capture of small animals and birds in distress

Donate your resources: we need gloves, nets, catch poles, transport crates, towels, heat pads, fuel for transportation and of course money!

Spread the word and help us to help Belize's wildlife
